Costs of sandblasting
We would like to provide you with a calculation formula for abrasive blasting (commonly known as sandblasting) and the blasting process , so that you can make a calculation from your desk and prove the costs with figures. However, there is no such formula, as the factors for calculating costs are different for every job and set up.
Nevertheless, in order to be able to create an approximate pre-calculation for the costs of sandblasting, the following questions should be asked for your project:
- Work effort:
What type of surface is to be cleaned and what are the requirements for the level of cleaning? - Costs for abrasive blast media:
Which abrasive media is suitable for the desired result and how often can it be reused? - Costs for compressor:
What operating pressure and volume flow rate (cubic meters per minute) are required? - Labor costs:
What is the general working method and experience of the blaster and what conditions does he encounter?

Once this basis for calculation has been identified, initial calculations can be made regarding the possible costs for sandblasting, taking local conditions into account.
It is also recommended to do test blasting in advance of the work. This allows you to determine how the surface will react and what is required to achieve the desired result. Clemco also has small blasting pots in its range for this purpose, which are not only particularly mobile, but are also ideal for this type of work.
